Internship @ 113 Fahrenheit

Yes, I have visited NCR.

I may not have visited the Qutab Minar, the various monuments of Delhi, even the India Gate but yes I have visited NCR.

The last few weeks of my life were spent roaming here and there in Delhi for internship. Being an marketing intern has its perks. Even though I have gained very less in terms of skills during my time here, I can honestly say "Yeah, I have been to Delhi".

Our work is very simple. Me and my partner, Abhishek has to meet the authority of many RWA society and collect some data so that my internship organisation can use it to run their business.

Of course, we also have to analyse and make decisions (being a market analyst intern) based on our data but that being the boring part, I will not include in my writing.

Our group were supposed to do only 3 zones of NCR i.e West Delhi, North Delhi and Dwarka but I ended up doing few more zones by helping other interns.

The travelling will come to the end after this week but the journey which I took after not choosing for HCL will last forever.

My first visit (just after getting warned for not working at all) was to Saket. Me and Akshat (another intern from different group) got down near the metro and searched for our targets. Luckily, we located our first RWA very easily but did not get the data as the president of the society was busy in some work and told us to meet him after 2 hours (as if!) . After the disappointment, we walked for some kilometers and collected some data. Some president were there, some didn't want to talk.

First RWA :)

While we were visiting societies after societies, we came in contact with a secretary who wanted to put an ad hoarding the next day itself. For some time, I got excited and thought I got a client for my organization. Then it struck upon me that the societies were not our clients but just a medium for our clients. Whatever excitement I had for my internship, it came down that day.

The RWA which broke my heart

Still, work is a work. I woke up the next day and made a pact to complete all my given targets and get the bonus of visiting most of the places in Delhi, NCR. This was probably the only motivation left for me other than my internship marks.

The first visit with my partner (for our zone) was a very good experience. We were made to sit comfortably, had cold drinking waters and they communicated with us very well. It's been more than a month, have finished collecting data for more than 200 RWAs, I can't remember anyone else treating us that well.

First RWA collected with my partner, Abhishek.

Some of the places where I went are as follows:

Vasundhra - Ghaziabad

Greater Noida

Ramesh Nagar

Moti Nagar

Janakpuri B Block

Vishal Enclave

Mukharjee Nagar - North Delhi

Hudson Line - North Delhi

Shalimar Bagh - North Delhi

Dwarka Sector - 12

Dwarka - the city is big and very well planned. Didn't have much chance to meet all the president and secretaries of the RWAs as they are not easily available unlike other zones. Kinda crazy but I did visit almost all the sectors of Dwarka. From Sector 1 to 23!

Saket - South Delhi

The societies in Delhi seems quite similar except in places like Dwarka and Greater Noida. It's unfortunate that I did not get the chance to explore East Delhi, Gurgaon and Faridabad as my schedule didn't allow me to go. Visiting West Delhi, North Delhi, South Delhi, Dwarka, Ghaziabad and Greater Noida that too @ 45 Degree Celsius (113 Fahrenheit) was quite an experience. I hope never to repeat this ever again... Lol!

There are quite a few things I have learned during my internship. Will write about them in the next post.
